CIRIA Fit-out Environmental Good Practice On-site Guide

19th April 2016

Rapport’ recently attended the launch of the Fit-out environmental good practice on-site guide in London.

As the construction industry falls under increasing pressure to ensure its activities have a reduced impact on the environment. And, as the fit-out sector faces unique challenges including the need for a quick turnaround, controlling cost and programme alongside site constraints – we all have the power to impact significantly the sustainability of the space both during fit-out. Environmental impact is something Rapport take seriously when delivering projects for our clients as part of the initial brief, therefore, we’re delighted a guide of this kind of guide has been developed.

Why is it useful?

With practical, succinct guidance to support the delivery of fit-out projects across a range of sectors, it is focused on the contractor and specifically the site manager. It also encourages co-operation between all parts of the supply chain to achieve excellent environmental practice.

Jeanette Grover, Rapport’s Project Director, and founder said: “Our industry has the potential to reduce positively environmental impact, during the design and fit out process both at an operational level and on-going wellbeing of the user – who will ultimately work within the built environment. We work alongside our designers and contractors to ensure product and waste achieve environmental standards.  This guide is proving to be a tremendous asset to those across the sector”.
