New vision for NatWest Tower Birmingham

18th August 2015

Birmingham city centre has been given the go-ahead from council planners to build a 60 million 26-story office block that will be built by summer 2018.

New vision for NatWest Tower Birmingham

After unanimous council support the demolition of the empty 22-story NatWest tower at 103 Colmore Row, will be replaced with the new tower by summer 2018 and will consist of 200,000 sq ft of office space, retail units fronted with a lighting feature to light up the city’s skyline. There will also be a rooftop, restaurant and street level winter garden.

As a workspace design and office fit-out organisations dream, the 346 feet high office building will be the tallest office building under construction in the UK outside of London, with an astounding £55 million investment being committed to the project.

The developers Rockspring and Sterling Property Ventures will complete the demolition over the next year.

Birmingham’s council director of planning Waheed Nazir says “This is one of the most iconic sites to be built on and will give confidence back, a sign that this city means business.”
